Croatia is back in the best tourist destinations classification. In Istria and Dalmatia, the tourists are more and more numerous. There are more than one hundred campsites in Croatia. Therefore, you will find some very basic campsites (one star) and some very luxurious (four stars). You can choose a pitch for your tent or your caravan. The Croatian campsites also offer the possibility to rent a mobile home, a bungalow or a chalet. If you travel with a motorhome, some campsites are equipped with a special services area. Some campsites have a marina and 90 % of the campsites are near a lake or near the Adriatic coast. Istria and the Kvarner golf have the most. Most of the campsites are open from May to the end of September. For July or August, Camping Croatia advises you to book. Unauthorised camping is strictly forbidden to prevent forest fires.
Croatia is a traditional destination for the numerous German and Austrian naturists. Some people say that the nude bathe would have been discovered in Istria. The story is that some poor students without money to buy a swimsuite would have ran naked to the sea. The first nude bather officially confirmed was the king of England Edward VIII in August 1934.
Naturism is a lifestyle in harmony with nature, expressed through social nudity, and characterised by self-respect as well as respect of people with different opinions and of the environment (International Naturist Federation). Camping Croatia presents 10 naturist campsites. These campsites are usually members of the Croatian Naturist Federation and of the International Naturist Federation.
